Jackson Wyoming Wednesay July 25th 2001 214 miles
One of the reasons that we cut over to Bozeman is that we were heading for Logan and we wanted to drive through Yellowstone. Out of the past 7 summers we have spent 4 of them in Yellowstone, camping with the Zollingers. This year though the harvest came early and even Ron Zollinger was staying up in the back country of Yellowstone Lake, so we had to make do with a drive. We entered through the north entrace of the park, something we had never done before. This was the original entrance to the park, so there is an impressive arch.
And the normal 70's brown and white park sign.
Because we have been to through the park so many times, we did not stop, nor did we take any pictures, until we started driving around Jackson Lake.
And of course the Teeton's
And Mark's toes.
We stayed at the Snow King Lodge that you can see at the bottom of the hill. The main attraction was the Alpine Slide which we spent quite a few bills on riding many times.
From the top you had a beautiful view of Jackson and the valley beyond.
The slide was a lot of fun, you can control your speed which can vary from VERY slow to skin scraping fast. Most of the worker's there (teenagers) had a very visible scab from riding too fast.
Everyone got their photo taken on the slide, even me, you can see the picture Stac took of me below.
With that great photo on to Logan.
