Speaking of Candy
Reading Mikes Blog tonight inspired me to comment (I finally found a decent RSS reader, I like but thats another story), and then I thought wait a minute, this deserves its own blog entry! Its really amazing the amount of energy that candy companies put into candy (well not that amazing when you think about $) , especially with a tried and true classic. Take for example the Reeses Peanut Butter cup. For years they were content to do the "hey you got your chocolate in my peanut butter" commercials (remember the ones where two guys are roller skating one with his peanut butter and the other with his chocolate and they crash into each other, I'm sure that is exactly how it happened. IN FACT on their website right now is a twist on the old classic. Frankly with Tivo its been so long since I watched commercials I am out of touch. Damn this is a long parenthetical.) But in the last 5 years or so there are like 10 different varieties of the Reeses Peanut Butter cup :
- White Chocolate
- Caramel Double Chocolate
- Limited Edition Peanut Butter Bar
- Limited Edition Fudge Bar
- Limited Edition Fudge Miniatures
- Limited Edition Miniatures with Nuts
- Limited Edition Fudge Miniatures
- Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate BIG CUP
- Peanut Butter & White Chocolate BIG CUP
- Limited Edition Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate Big Cup with Nuts
- Dipped Cookies
And that is JUST the Peanut Butter Cup, then you have these NEW bars :
- Reeses Fast Break
- NutRageous
- ReeseSticks
They have gone Reeses crazy!
Personally I have never strayed from the tried and true, and they do make a damn good smore :

Welcome to the wonderful world of RSS. I've added your feed to my list (I'm still using bloglines)
In case you haven't tried them, Flickr provides some great RSS options with feeds for people as well as for individual tags and other stuff. I tend to see a lot of your pictures twice cause I'm subscribed to your feed as well as the issaquah tag.
Oh and you forgot all the holiday themed Reeses products. My sis-in-law and I were talking about these just the other night. They've got trees for Christmas, eggs for Easter, and now pumpkins for Halloween, and we're probably missing some. And Reeses Pieces, though they're missing the chocolate, so maybe they don't qualify.
