Potato Donuts
A tradition from my youth, my Grandmother Lindquist would make Potato Donuts. Here is the recipe for future generations.
- Mash together
- 5 medium size potatoes - peeled and boiled
- In a seperate bowl whisk together
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- Mix ingredients with
- 3 tablespoons of baking powder
- 4-5 cups of flour
- Roll out Donuts
- spread flour out on rolling board or table
- roll out the gooey dough adding more flour as you go
- cut donuts with mason jar ring or cup
- deep fry in oil
- Donuts and holes can be rolled in sugar
- Donuts are better the day after
