Speaking of Candy

Reading Mikes Blog tonight inspired me to comment (I finally found a decent RSS reader, I like but thats another story), and then I thought wait a minute, this deserves its own blog entry!

Its really amazing the amount of energy that candy companies put into candy (well not that amazing when you think about $) , especially with a tried and true classic. Take for example the Reeses Peanut Butter cup. For years they were content to do the "hey you got your chocolate in my peanut butter" commercials (remember the ones where two guys are roller skating one with his peanut butter and the other with his chocolate and they crash into each other, I'm sure that is exactly how it happened. IN FACT on their website right now is a twist on the old classic. Frankly with Tivo its been so long since I watched commercials I am out of touch. Damn this is a long parenthetical.) But in the last 5 years or so there are like 10 different varieties of the Reeses Peanut Butter cup :

And that is JUST the Peanut Butter Cup, then you have these NEW bars :


They have gone Reeses crazy!

Personally I have never strayed from the tried and true, and they do make a damn good smore :
