New Years 2003-2004 (75 images)

We spent New Years down on the coast at Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. When Spanish settled northeren California, the most southern section of habitation was the mission at Carmel. The region south of Carmel was known as El Pais Grande Del Sur, or the big country to the south. In time this was shortened to Big Sur. While there is an actual town named Big Sur, the name more appropriately refers to the region from Piont Lobos to San Simeon. More story amongst the pictures.
