We did in the afternoon buy lift tickets on the gondola to the top of Whistler peak. The tram moves very fast, about 3.5 meters per second, and they said in the winter when things are really busy it goes about 5 meters per second. I can't translate that to miles per hour but it was zippy. And its still a 20-25 minute ride to the top.
