Part of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest
Location : Mt. Naomi is in the Mt. Naomi Wilderness which is part of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. It is accessible from three marked trails : Cherry Creek, High Creek or Tony Grove. It is also possible to access by two other methods. One is hiking up Smithfield Canyon to the high bench and then cutting across country north up the ridge to Naomi Peak, the other is from White Pine Lake, cutting up around Mount Magog and south up the ridge to Naomi Peak. I did a through hike from Tony Grove to White Pine Lake and back down to Tony Grove and up to Naomi Peak and out Cherry Creek Canyon in Richmond.
Elevation Start/End: 8000/5400 with 4300(?) foot overall elevation gain.
Length: 25 miles through hike
Trail Info: The Tony Grove turn off is 19 miles nor theast of Logan on Highway 89 up Logan Canyon, and then another 7 miles up a paved road. The other end Cherry Creek canyon in Richmond. Drive out to 300 East in Richmond, head east to 300 North, then go north and turn right heading east again at 500 North which becomes 11000 North or Cherry Creek Canyon road. The road will soon become gravel and ends at a cabin or some sort of girls camp/building.
