Miles Benjamin Griffith

Life happens, with adoption it can happen FAST! Thursday afternoon (Nov 13, 2003 ) we got a call from a Utah agency about baby boy that had been born that very day and his Birth Mother had not yet chosen a family. Not only that but they had no families but ours to show her. The agency in San Francisco that did our home study faxed over the information, and by Friday at 12:45 pm we new that the Birth Mother had chosen us. We bought tickets, got on the plane to SLC at 8:45 pm. Arrived at 11:45 pm, drove to Denny's to meet the Birth Mother. After spending a short overwhelming and touching time with her, we drove out to Tooele and fell exhausted into bed at around 1:30 am. Up at 8 am to finish filling out paper work and rush off to a different Denny's (The Neutral Zone for adoptive interactions) to meet with the Utah agency's representative, the transitional foster mother, and to meet Miles. After reviewing the paper work and getting the approval of the directory, we signed more paper work and at 1pm we took Miles home with us. Kiah and Mark flew back to California Tuesday night so that Kiah would not miss any more school. Stacey, Sofi and Miles waited in Utah at Grandpa adn Grandma Scott's house till the Inter-state-compact paper work was approved and they flew home Friday, Nov 14, 2003.
