As we left Hope for Fraser Canyon we passed by a Duke Energy site, which is the company my Uncle Terry works for, so we took this photo to commemorate our passing and his job. Here is his update on exactly what this is:
A Natural Gas compressor station's purpose: It is a long journey for NG from deep in the earth to your
stove or furnace
find the NG, drill for the NG, clean the NG (water, sulfer etc.etc.),
compress the NG to 2000 psi, put it in a 30 inch pipeline, keep compressing
it about every 100 miles down the pipeline, run it through a substation to
take down the pressure, move it along 2 inch pipelines at 15 psi to your
meter and then your stove.
