Channel Islands

Hank I had a great time diving the Channel Island's last year and we decided to plan a trip again. Actually last time we ended up going on great dives, but I started out that trip by waking up at 5:30 am and barfing over the side. The rest of that trip turned out much better than the "oh-I-am-so-sick-I-want-to-die" feeling I began with. Naturally, I was a little trepidacious about returning to Channel Islands. This time I took meclizine and had no sea sickness. On my last dive, in talking about the Channel Islands with Peter, he recommended I check out the Spectre and Cal Boat Diving. In doing research, I noted that they were located in Ventura, which is actually the closest point to the Channel Islands. We boarded the boat the night before at 11 pm, and the boat departed the harbor at 7 am. This also avoided the choppy crossing of the channel out of Santa Barbara.
